We're Ready for our trip to the DR!

Months of planning and weeks of preparation have prepared us for our trip to the Dominican Republic.  We'll be there 48 hours from now!  We're hoping to keep all of our family and friends in the Upper Valley posted on our regular basis, and will attempt to enlist the help of several bloggers, both students and advisors, so that you can experience this adventure from several vantage points.

Our fearless leader Rita Severinghaus has already departed, taking the Dartmouth Coach this afternoon to begin her journey.  We'll see her next when she meets us with the bus at the airport in Santiago.  The rest of us will begin our trip bright and early on Friday morning.

We are so grateful for the support we have received from our families, our church congregations, and many businesses and friends throughout the Upper Valley.  Just today we received a large quantity of flouride treatments from Lyme Road Dental, and 100 brand-new tee shirts in all sizes and colors from TK Sports.  We now have 19 suitcases and duffel bags full of donated clothing, dental and health supplies, and the wonderful backpacks which we purchased with the proceeds of flower and bake sales.

Stay tuned for a post tomorrow to introduce you to some of our student bloggers.  (This post is being written by rookie trip leader and veteran blogger Rob Grabill).
